Interesting day. Went to shed to get out my ATV - Sam having her kittens in shed. Decided to ride other one instead. Checked cat box on deck to see why Sam didn't have kittens there. Good reason, was a dead raccoon in cat box. Cleaned up that. Had lunch. On to mowing yard. Tractor tire repairman arrived. Multiple thorns in tire. Repairs made. Mowing finished. After dinner watched a movie - "No Country for Old Men". rockfarmer gave it ****. I gave it *, maybe. Did keep me awake, hoping for some redeeming value.

Trilliums are blooming on Sandlick. Looks like a bumper crop this year. Christmas fern fiddleheads are up (have not gotten a good shot yet). Walk in woods yesterday very rewarding. Saw bloodroot in bloom, fiddleheads from Christmas fern, lots of mayapple coming on, a sea of spring beauty, pussytoes (male & female), violets (purple, yellow, confederate), a new one (VA pennywort) and blue cohosh in bloom. Went to woods in search of morels - did not see a one. Excellent walk anyway!
