Trilliums are blooming on Sandlick. Looks like a bumper crop this year. Christmas fern fiddleheads are up (have not gotten a good shot yet). Walk in woods yesterday very rewarding. Saw bloodroot in bloom, fiddleheads from Christmas fern, lots of mayapple coming on, a sea of spring beauty, pussytoes (male & female), violets (purple, yellow, confederate), a new one (VA pennywort) and blue cohosh in bloom. Went to woods in search of morels - did not see a one. Excellent walk anyway!

sounds delightful! do you think mother's day will be too late for ferns?
none of the ferns down the road are even peeking out yet, will keep you posted
